The MMM Scale Division held our Scale Summer Regatta on Saturday (18 July 2020). It was a hot day!
Special thanks go to Randall Thomas who designed, built and set the course with help from Victor Wong and Hugh Lee. Don Sutton set the piers.
Randall was also the chief scorer and the results of the precision steering, conning and predicted log are on our website. The big takeaway was we all need to work on going astern!
Thank you to David Nelson who judged the boats statically and Don Sutton who judged the tug tow off.
Photos are courtesy of Peter Berlin and David Tweedale.
Thank you to all those who participated and particularly CMM members Doug Grinyer and Steve Gray. We would also thank Jim Rutledge and Art Cocroft who had a long drive.
But this event could not have happened without Hugh, our Scale Captain. On behalf of all those that took part, and all the MMM members, a big thank you Hugh.
Julian Kenney
MMM President
PS. From Randall, if you get an opportunity watch “Greyhound” with Tom Hanks.
