Ron Prokop is in Sarasota and just had a look at the proposed Soling kits. This was presented at the Region 7 Soling Regatta very recently. Ron’s comments as follows:
“The feeling here is very positive. It is definitely a modernized update and this can only help the class, and strengthen it.
They are sorting a way where the deck fits on top as usual, but with an inside lip, a slot of some kind, to grip/clip the hull and deck together, rather than just depending on styrene glue to hold things together.
Wood parts will be reduced, pretty much eliminated.”
